I do admit that with this article I am referring to investment properties that are above the average house price and where people are paying above the average rent.
Having watched many TV shows on landscaping over the past year or two, I have come to love the idea of having ‘outdoor rooms’. When the children are small mums generally want the children to play within their eye sight, or at least where they can hear them so outdoor rooms are not such a great idea.
As the family grows and parents look for a bit of peace and quiet outside the house, as the teenagers turn up the volume with their sub woofers or hubby is watching the footy on TV or dad wants to get away from the gaggle of the females of the house, or even just hide so he doesn’t get asked to do ‘duties’, these outdoor rooms take on a whole new significance.

I am discussing this subject because in the rental properties that are fetching good rents and are being rented to several adults, outdoor rooms add value to the property and can help fetch even more solid rentals. Outdoor rooms can be in the form of a patio, an exclusive side deck to the house, a nook in the garden, a BBQ area or whatever, but the idea is that people or persons can go to these areas and be quite secluded from others in the house.
If considering spending money on the outdoor area of your investment property, it would most certainly be worthwhile considering landscaping in such a way to add an outdoor room or two.
