The Benefits of Owning a Set of Duplexes
This type of property investing has often been of interest as when you own both duplexes you are the Body Corporate.
There are several advantages in buying a duplex pair as an investment strategy and they are:
• You have the benefit of two rental incomes
• You are the body corporate so you have the sole decision making
• You can often get a duplex pair for just over the price of a house on the same size property but have extra income because of the fact of having two incomes from the rental property
• At a later date you can move into one if you want to and still have income if the other has sufficient property equity
• If you have a son or daughter that may want independence they can live there but you would still have one income from the property
• If the duplex pair are in a holiday situation you may opt to keep one for your own use but let the other out, or let out the one you would use for holiday rental
• At a later date, should you need some extra finance, you could quit one unit but keep the other so you would still have some income
From this list you can see that it would be quite advantageous to own a duplex pair. They are not easy to come by but if these facts appeal to you then it would pay to keep on the lookout for them.
