Tips for Styling a Property Investment

When replacing items in an investment property or when refurbishing an investment property here are some style tips that will help:
- curtains – make sure the measurement just skims the floor because curtains touching the floor will be ruined much quicker
- curtains – choose fabrics or coverings to suit the room – for example chose curtains that will allow light for the living areas but in the bedrooms the curtains need to block out the light
- window coverings – keep them neautral but they can be slightly darker in shade than the walls or even have a self pattern which is quite attractive
- electrical items - be careful that they are not cheap and nasty as they will not last and detract from the quality of the property
- if the property is on a highway double-glazing the windows will do wonders for stopping the noise
- stick to neutral tones for the walls and main items because colour can be added with accessories
- in rooms like the second bedrooms and family rooms cupboard doors can be painted in a highlight color then it is easy to change without a lot of cost
- use durable paint because this will be easier to maintain
- glass is a great to use for the splashback in the kitchen because there is not grout or seams to cause cleaning problems
- if installing cupboards, take them to the ceiling to create more storage space
- shelves and cupboards can be above bedroom doors and this will create extra room for storage
- create a workstation somewhere out of the way if there is not spare room for an office
When refurbishing look for quality but inexpensive fabrics. They do exist and it is a good time to buy at sales and the like.
