Using the right resources to get your answers

world-and-5-computersThere are resources that you may or may not have heard of that property investors of yesteryear did not have a chance to use and they are Google Maps and Google Earth. These programs can be downloaded for your computer by putting either words into your browser and then clicking through to the link.

Google Earth allows you to have a look at a property from any angle that you may be interested in. It is truly a wonderful program available for property investors who want to invest away from home. Pictures are relayed by satellite and generally are not that old.

Google Maps will help you find streets and suburbs and also check out what is in the vicinity as far as other facilities are concerned. You can see if there are shopping centres, train lines, schools and so forth.

Some other resources:

http://www.tslprojectservices.com.au – chartered Quantity Surveyors

www.apimagazine.com.au – Australian Property Investor magazine

www.rba.gov.au – Australia Reserve Bank

www.domain.com.au – property search website

www.realestate.com.au – property search website

www.fido.gov.au – Australian Securities and Investment Commission

www.reiaustralia.com.au – Real Estate Institute of Australia

www.ato.gov.au – Australian Taxation Office

www.abs.gov.au – Australian Bureau of Statistics

www.mycreditfile.com.au – order your credit file online

You may look at some of these domain names and wonder why you should look at them, but most of them have quite informative data and information that you could use when you are researching your properties with an intention to purchase.

In the New Year we will discuss some of them in more detail giving a more in depth understanding of their usefulness.
